Yr3 Weekly Update - 04/21/17Many food products go through a process of change and interconnected systems.Attitude: Curiosity Learner Profile Attribute: Knowledgeable Approaches to Learning (ATLs): Communication, Thinking, Concepts: Change, Function, Connection, Unit of Inquiry Following on from the E-farm Trip , classes have been focusing on local food systems. It's great to see so many children talking to their parents/helpers and looking at food labels to see where different food products originate from. Maths Children have begun to understand the difference between mm, cm, m and km. They have used these units to estimate and also improve their practical skills of measuring accurately with a ruler. Literacy In our reading groups, children have been looking at the skill of synthesizing- using their prior knowledge to piece information together. In writing we have made a success criteria for explanation texts and used this to order paragraphs and understand the structure of this genre.     |
