Newsletter- 28/06/24Kowloon Junior School's latest newsletter is available to read now. Dates for Your Diary14 August First Day of School Principal's MessageDear KJS families, As we reach the end of another academic year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for your support during my first year as Principal at Kowloon Junior School. This has been a truly wonderful year, and it has been a joy to fully open up and welcome all of you into the school to share in your children's work, performances, sporting events, and of course, our Year 6 PYP exhibition and leavers assembly, held yesterday morning. Our community has flourished with the help of our fantastic PTA events, including the Winter Fair, Monster's Ball, Drake the Dragon launch day, and our fabulous whole school fair in March, celebrating the rich history of this wonderful school. I would also like to wish the best of luck to our Year 6 students as they move on to KGV and other schools across Hong Kong. We are confident that they will continue to excel and make us all proud. I would also like to offer special thanks to some of our staff who are leaving us this year: Ms. Seward, our Year 5 Lead, who will be returning to New Zealand after 4 years at KJS. Mr. Ted, who has been working mainly in Year 4 this year, is leaving to pursue teaching opportunities across ESF. Miss Jade, who has been working with both the LET team and Year 3 this year. Miss Yoyo, our Year 1 EA, who is moving on to a different career outside of education. Finally, Ms. Helen Hu, from the Mandarin team, who after 16 years of dedicated service at KJS, is moving on to spend more time with her family. We wish them every success in their future ventures. Finally, I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable summer and look forward to welcoming most of you back in August. Warm regards, Mr Gavin MacGregor Principal KJS TimesDear KJS Community, The time has come for our budding journalists to take a well-deserved summer break, but we wanted to leave you with a final edition of the KJS Times to share and enjoy with your family over the holidays. Student SuccessThank you for sharing your child's achievements with us over the past year. While individual achievements are undoubtedly significant and provide a source of pride for both the student and their family, sharing every student's accomplishments on our social media channels is no longer feasible. Our intention is to create an inclusive environment where all students, regardless of their individual accomplishments, feel valued and celebrated. That being said, we encourage you to share your child's achievements with their teacher and peers, as well as within your personal social media networks. This way, your child's accomplishments can be recognized and celebrated by those who know them best. We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to navigate the post-pandemic educational landscape. Our school community's strength lies in our collective efforts to celebrate the diverse talents, achievements, and experiences of all our students. Disclaimer
