Newsletter- 27/04/22Kowloon Junior School's latest newsletter is available to read now. Dates for Your Diary02 May Labour Day - No school 09 May Buddha's Birthday - No school 03 June Dragon Boat Festival - No school 10 June Year 4 Camp (Day 1) 17 June Year 4 Camp (Day 2) Dear KJS Families, It has been a very positive start to full-day school this week, and I am constantly amazed by the energy and positivity that our students maintain throughout each day. The smiles, conversations, and instinctive sense that we are better together shines through across our lovely school. The transition back into our lunch arrangements has also been smooth. It is almost as if the three months of distance learning never happened. I suppose that it is indicative of the adaptability and flexibility that our students have developed over the past 2 ½ years. While I am certainly not celebrating the distance learning stints that we have had to endure, I am buoyed by the thought of the many useful life skills that our students are developing because of it. To keep you in the loop, we are continuing to explore options and arrangements for extracurricular activities. Please see below for more information regarding student vaccination requirements for extracurricular activities. Finally, I would like to remind you of daily Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) requirements. We are monitoring the situation, and the data show that this has not become a habit yet for every family. Please remember to test with a school-provided RAT before school every day and indicate via the ESF App that you have met this EDB requirement. Kind regards, Dr Jamie Schmitz Principal Extracurricular Activities and Student Vaccination DataIn line with EDB guidelines, only children who have received 2 doses of the vaccine can attend extracurricular activities. Please upload your child's vaccine status using the ESF App so that our records are up to date. If your child has had 1 Covid vaccination dose and has since recovered from Covid within the past 6 months, please upload his/her 'Recovery Record', including date, through the 'other' option where type of vaccine is requested. This is acceptable as evidence of vaccination. Parents can now view or download the instructions here. Student SuccessThe celebration of student success will channel to our Facebook page.
