Firstly, I want to remind you that our PTA Winter Fair will be taking place next Friday, December 1st. This event, I'm sure, will be one of the highlights of the year, and we are grateful for the support of all the parent volunteers who have signed up to help. Your dedication and participation are much appreciated. Additionally, I am excited that our theatre club will be performing after school on Wednesday. Our talented students have been working hard to put on a fantastic show, and I encourage you to come and show your support if your child is involved. I would also like to express my gratitude to all the students who were involved in the recent photo shoot for our new school website. Their enthusiasm made the process smooth and enjoyable. We cannot wait to showcase these photos and highlight the vibrant spirit of our school community. Lastly, I want to take a moment to inform you about our school policies and guidelines. Just like any large organization, ESF Has established these measures to ensure that we work efficiently, effectively, and consistently. To make it easier for you to access these policies, we will shortly be creating page within Splat, our online platform, where you can view the most relevant ones as an ESF parent. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with these policies, as they play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all. Have a great weekend. Executive Function and Child DevelopmentThis topic is part of the series of presentations promoting positive wellbeing in children. Have you ever wondered how your child's brain works? Why do they think and act in a certain way? Our brain is a complex and intricate system that governs every aspect of our bodily functions, movements, thoughts, reflexes and sensations. Importantly, our brain plays a significant role in our everyday functioning, interaction with our environment as well as regulating our impulses and emotions. Executive function is a key set of skills and mental processes that helps us govern our daily life. The essential executive functioning skills are planning, organising, emotional regulation, self monitoring, focus and memory. These specific skills complement each other and work in concert to help us perform our tasks and achieve our goals. Goal: This talk will provide an overview of how executive function works and its relevance to learning, problem solving, social interaction, managing stress and emotions. Student SuccessThank you for sharing your child's achievements with us over the past year. While individual achievements are undoubtedly significant and provide a source of pride for both the student and their family, sharing every student's accomplishments on our social media channels is no longer feasible. Our intention is to create an inclusive environment where all students, regardless of their individual accomplishments, feel valued and celebrated. That being said, we encourage you to share your child's achievements with their teacher and peers, as well as within your personal social media networks. This way, your child's accomplishments can be recognized and celebrated by those who know them best. We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to navigate the post-pandemic educational landscape. Our school community's strength lies in our collective efforts to celebrate the diverse talents, achievements, and experiences of all our students. Disclaimer
