Dates for Your Diary28 February - 31 March Book Month 24 (after school) - 25 (all day) March Three-Way Conferences 01 April Last day of school (Finish 12pm) 04 April - 18 April Term break 19 April First day of school Dear KJS Families, I am thrilled to be able to finally write that we will be returning to school in-person on 19/4. After a protracted period of distance learning, there will naturally be an adjustment period for our students, so we have already begun considering how best we might support this transition from learning and wellbeing perspectives. I appreciate that you all must have a lot of questions, so please rest assured that we will share return to school details with you as soon as possible. On a related note, it will be wonderful for our students to be acting on their planned next learning steps in-person. You will be hearing about your child's learning targets, learning progress, and next steps later this week during our three-way conferences, so I hope that you find this process positive and illuminating. Equally as important, will be the in-person advantages that our year six students will enjoy as they move through their PYP Exhibition journey after the Easter break. The process is already beginning for our students, and the opportunity to connect with teachers and mentors in-person will only enrich their learning. Finally, it's important to highlight that a prolonged period of distance learning does not mean that we stop professional learning. On the contrary, our teachers have been working hard over the past few months to refine and further develop learning intentions, success criteria, and feedback practices to support learning and teaching. In fact, we have a focused professional development session coming up next Monday to extend this learning even more. When the going gets tough, the tough keep learning! Kind regards, Dr Jamie Schmitz Principal Student Vaccination DataThe message below regarding student vaccination data was sent to all parents via ESF App last Friday. For parents who are not sure about how to upload the record, please refer to this manual. ESF Message Over the past few months, the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Government (EDB) has requested information on the number of staff and students that have received a COVID19 vaccination. ESF has already collected data relating to the number of teaching staff who have been vaccinated. ESF is now seeking your support to establish the vaccination status in relation to students attending ESF schools. The provision of this information is entirely voluntary. However, we believe that having details of the levels of student vaccination in our school communities will be of assistance when face-to-face learning resumes. The ESF App now has a Student Vaccine Record function that parents can use to upload their child's/children's vaccination information. We would encourage you to upload details of your child's/children's vaccination status through the ESF App. Any personal data will be held safely and securely and in line with ESF's personal data handling and data privacy policy, available here. Student SuccessThe celebration of student success will channel to our Facebook page. You can find the school's Facebook here. Please keep the photos and stories coming of our children shooting the AAROW's of Success! Disclaimer:
