We hope everyone enjoyed the mid-term break last week. It was wonderful to see so many smiley faces arriving on Monday morning, ready to continue their learning journey. A huge thank you to all the students who represented KJS by volunteering and helped make the Jockey Club Sarah Roe sports day event a huge success this week. Your efforts and enthusiasm were greatly appreciated by their school staff and families. A few weeks back, we sent out information regarding mask wearing, and we are encouraged to see that families have embraced this approach. We would like to encourage all students to attend school without a mask, unless your child has underlying medical conditions that we should be made aware of. We believe this will support the overall well-being of our students and foster a more positive and engaging learning environment. Next Friday, we will be hosting Diwali assemblies, where many students have been auditioning and rehearsing. The event is being held next week to ensure those celebrating the week after can attend and also due to the year 5 camps. I'm sure the event will be as colourful and entertaining as ever. We are looking forward to the first major PTA event of the year, the Spooky Boo-gie Ball, next Thursday. We can't wait to see everyone there, dressed in their spookiest and most creative costumes! Have a wonderful weekend. Mr Gavin MacGregor Principal News from the PTAHello KJS Community, Finally, tickets have gone on sale yesterday for the Spooky Boogie Ball! Thursday 24 October 2024 Thank you to all those extra volunteers who have signed up to help at this event next week and to those staff members who have also volunteered their time to attend and help out. We realise that many parents were unable to purchase tickets for this event before sales were suspended due to lack of volunteers. We are closely monitoring the current sign ups and the Committee will make a decision on releasing more tickets shortly. Please keep an eye out for more communications around this…stay positive! An important reminder for this event: There will be no plates or utensils handed out by the food vendors or the PTA at this event. Instead, we ask that all guests bring their own utensils and boxes to reduce the use of disposable tableware. While individual achievements are undoubtedly significant and provide a source of pride for both the student and their family, sharing every student's accomplishments on our social media channels is no longer feasible. Our intention is to create an inclusive environment where all students, regardless of their individual accomplishments, feel valued and celebrated. That being said, we encourage you to share your child's achievements with their teacher and peers, as well as within your personal social media networks. This way, your child's accomplishments can be recognized and celebrated by those who know them best. We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to navigate the post-pandemic educational landscape. Our school community's strength lies in our collective efforts to celebrate the diverse talents, achievements, and experiences of all our students. Disclaimer
