I hope that you all enjoyed an energising and fun winter break. While Christmas has since passed us by, I would still like to mention the outstanding Christmas edition of the KJS Times that our amazing students created with leadership support from Ms. Bailey. The wonderful writing, the beautiful and uplifting layout, and the endless enthusiasm that so clearly comes from our children combined to produce an edition that put a huge smile on my face. I would also like to highlight the positive connection that we all felt in-school on the last day during our Christmas assemblies. We had three assemblies, catering for two year levels each, and our students and staff had a great time singing, dancing, and listening to stories. Our Student Council members also did a brilliant job hosting the assemblies. In the lead up to our Chinese New Year celebrations at KJS, we will be providing a culturally enriching Chinese Ensemble experience for our year four students. I will share some more information about this in the coming weeks after I have had the privilege of joining some of the sessions. Kind regards, Dr Jamie Schmitz Acting Principal Library NewsDear Parents, Happy New Year! Our library team has noticed a number of students walking up and down the stairwell with library books without bags in hand, in the morning as they arrive and especially when they leave. As a result, some students have lost books in different parts of the school, damaged our books and have been in accidents as they have not paid attention as they are walking. Please remind your child that all books should be carried in their library book bags until they reach home. Library bags protect books, ensure the safe transport of books to your home and if lost, a tool to identify who it belongs to when it's misplaced in the community. Please also refer to our KJS Virtual Library for information about our after school writing club starting in Term 2.
