Acting Principal’s Message

We have some exciting updates and events to share with you this week.

New KJS Community Facebook Group

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new private Facebook group for KJS – KJS- Our Community Group- which has just gone live. This initiative aims to strengthen and celebrate our school community by fostering engagement and connection among our families.

Please join and participate in this online platform, where you can share experiences, exchange ideas, and celebrate KJS. We have set some rules and guidelines to ensure a respectful and positive experience for all members. Remember, this platform is not for raising individual concerns or naming children in photos. If in doubt, please don’t post.

This Facebook private group will be open until the end of the term, and we will review its success after that. Please join us in embracing this exciting opportunity to connect with fellow KJS community members. (Click here to join the KJS Community Facebook group).

PYP Exhibition Update

Our students are hard at work on their PYP Exhibition projects. They are currently exploring options to help them answer their research questions. These options include different forms of media, interviews, surveys, and observations and visits.

As part of their learning, students are also contemplating the types of action they may take, such as lifestyle choices, social entrepreneurship, social justice, and participation.

We look forward to sharing more updates on their progress and the exciting outcomes of their research and actions.

Thank you for your ongoing support and engagement in our school community.

Kind Regards,

Dr. Jamie Schmitz – Acting Principal

Student Success

Dear parents,

Thank you for sharing your child’s achievements with us over the past year. As the school principal, I am always delighted to hear about the accomplishments and growth of our students. We appreciate your enthusiasm in wanting to share these achievements with our school community.

In recent times, as we continue to adapt to the post-pandemic context, our focus has shifted back to the original purpose of our school’s social media channels. Our goal is to use these platforms to strengthen the school community by highlighting the many events, activities, and collaborative projects that involve our students, staff, and families. Through this approach, we aim to foster a sense of unity and celebrate the collective accomplishments of our school community.

While individual achievements are undoubtedly significant and provide a source of pride for both the student and their family, sharing every student’s accomplishments on our social media channels is no longer feasible. Our intention is to create an inclusive environment where all students, regardless of their individual accomplishments, feel valued and celebrated.

That being said, we encourage you to share your child’s achievements with their teacher and peers, as well as within your personal social media networks. This way, your child’s accomplishments can be recognized and celebrated by those who know them best.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to navigate the post-pandemic educational landscape. Our school community’s strength lies in our collective efforts to celebrate the diverse talents, achievements, and experiences of all our students.

Kind regards,

Dr. Jamie Schmitz
