Newsletter- 02/06/21![]() Kowloon Junior School's latest newsletter is available to read now. Dates for Your DiaryMonday 14 June Dragon Boat Festival - No school Wednesday 30 June Last day of school - Half day (finish at 12pm) Thursday 1 July Summer holiday begins! Dear Parents, Once again we have had a wonderful, if not, a wet start to the week at KJS. Nevertheless, the children keep arriving excited and ready for learning. If children need to bring umbrellas, it would be extremely helpful for them to be able to put them up and down unaided. You might also consider contacting the PTA about the purchase of a school raincoat which is designed to keep your child's school bag dry too. There was a real buzz of excitement last Friday as children transitioned into their new classes, meeting new teachers and friends for next year. We welcomed four new teachers into Kowloon Junior School: Mr Wong in Y1, Ms Simpson in Y2, Mr Lawrence in Y6 and Ms. Ship, who joined us by video message from the UK, also in Y6. Our Y6 students visited their ESF secondary schools and were full of enthusiasm for what they found out and the sessions that took place. The new Y1 children, who will join us in August, met their new teachers by Zoom. Again, we have positive feedback that new families are very much looking forward to joining the KJS family. Such a busy day! In school, we continue our 3Ms to success making a safe and enjoyable environment for all. Warm Regards Jane Parker Vice Principal Private car, pick up & drop off![]() A gentle reminder to parents, if you drive your child to school and pick him/her up at the end of the day, we would like to remind you not to block cars wanting to pass through or any entrances to buildings. Thank you for your cooperation! Library News![]() Dear Parents, I hope your children have enjoyed borrowing books home. As we approach the end of the school year, we kindly ask that all library books are returned to the library by Friday 11 June 2021. Students can continue to enjoy reading books online through Wheelers, our digital library. EPIC is also available during school hours and should you wish to read it outside that time, a subscription is required. This is optional for families to join. Of course, you can always go on to our KJS Virtual Library for some Fun and Useful Links for more ebook options. Please contact Ms. Lau at macy.lau@kjs.edu.hk should you have any questions. Student SuccessThe celebration of student success will channel to our Facebook page. You can find the school's Facebook here.
