Dates for Your Diary28 February - 31 March Book Month 25 March 3-Way student led conference 01 April Last day of school (Finish 12pm) 04 April - 18 April Term break 19 April First day of school Dear KJS Families, Following on from yesterday's EDB announcement, I can confirm that there is no change to the 2021/2022 KJS calendar. We will continue with distance learning in March, and the Easter break will begin as scheduled on April 1st for a period of two weeks. The final term will begin on April 19th as planned, and we hope to return to in-person learning at that point or sometime soon thereafter. While we will do our utmost to maintain our current distance learning schedule and effective balance between live online and independent learning, it is important to understand that there may be times when we have to shift to independent learning tasks for a period of time. We are currently planning contingency measures for a number of scenarios so that we can fulfill our commitment to continuity of learning for our students irrespective of circumstances beyond our control. We ask for your support and understanding as we move through this challenging time together. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting some Year Six classes to hear about their Mini-Exhibition learning. As many of you will be aware, Year Six marks the culminating PYP event - The PYP Exhibition. The PYP Exhibition process will begin formally in the near future, and this current approach will support our students to successfully transition to full PYP Exhibition-mode. Our students asked many thoughtful questions and demonstrated an awareness of concepts linked to contexts outside of their immediate lives. Inquiry and action connected to community and service can genuinely help to cultivate intrinsic motivation which is one our strategic priorities at KJS.
