Acting Principal’s Message
Dear KJS Families,
Welcome Back!
We hope you had a safe and enjoyable Easter break, spending time with family and/or friends. As we embark on the final term of the school year, we have several exciting events and initiatives to share with you.
PYP Exhibition: A Celebration of Learning
We are thrilled to announce the commencement of the PYP Exhibition process, the culminating in-depth learning experience at Kowloon Junior School. This significant event celebrates the achievements of our students as they showcase their understanding of the Primary Years Programme and exhibit their growth as learners.
Over the course of the PYP Exhibition, students will explore a topic of personal interest while demonstrating their ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and take action as responsible global citizens. Teachers, mentors, and the school community will support students throughout the Exhibition process, providing guidance and encouragement as they work to develop a comprehensive and engaging final presentation. We look forward to celebrating our students’ accomplishments and witnessing their creativity and passion during the PYP Exhibition event.
ESF Lunch Provider Tendering
The tendering process for a new lunch provider is ongoing and will continue for the remainder of the school year. The ESF team is coordinating this effort with several schools concurrently, and we anticipate the new lunch provider will begin serving our students in August or September. We will keep you informed as the process unfolds and appreciate your patience during this period.
Learning Conferences for Families
We are excited about our upcoming Learning Conferences for families that will be held on the 27th and 28th of April. These conferences provide an opportunity for families and students to engage with learning and teachers and discuss their child’s learning progress. We believe that strong partnerships between families and the school are essential to student success, and we look forward to these valuable conversations.
Music Assembly Recap
Lastly, we would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who participated in and attended the Music Assembly on the last day before the Easter break. The fantastic and diverse performances showcased our students’ talents and interests, while the great audience participation made the event truly special. The Music Assembly was a wonderful opportunity for students to share their passions and further strengthen our school community.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to a productive and exciting final term at KJS.
Kind regards,
Dr. Jamie Schmitz
Acting Principal

News from the PTA
Hello KJS Community,
Welcome back to Term 3, the last one of this academic year! We hope all our families and staff got a chance to relax and refresh themselves over the Easter holidays, and are now fully recharged for this final term.
PTA Office update
The PTA Office was under renovation over the break, and soon will be fully refurbished with a beverage centre, meeting table and coffee corner. We hope this will become a hub for all members of the KJS Community to gather, brainstorm ideas and work as a team towards building an ever stronger network of KJS partners.
We are still holding these items (a child’s handbag, hat and a thumb drive) that were found on the KJS Family Fun Day last month. They will be kept in the PTA Office until the end of April, after which they will be kept in the general Lost Property section of the school.
Upcoming Events
The PTA are collaborating with the school for more events before the end of June and also planning ahead to the next year to arrange suitable dates, so watch this space….
We look forward to supporting our Year 6 students in June as they prepare for their Graduation, and welcoming new Year 1 families ahead of their start with us in August.
We need volunteers to make things happen, and we value everyone’s input, so please do contact Rekha via email at pta@kjs.edu.hk or call on 3765-8709 to connect with us. We look forward to a fantastic and memorable term.
Have a great week ahead!
The KJS PTA Team
Student Success
The celebration of student success will channel to our Facebook page. You can find the school’s Facebook here. Please keep the photos and stories coming of our children shooting the AAROW’s of Success!
