IMPORTANT DATES
Dear All,
On Friday night the PTA hosted a very successful Quiz Night which was great fun for all involved. Nearly twice the size of last year’s event, the participants enjoyed the questions set by our talented Quiz Master, Mrs Stewart. It was an evening full of laughter, friendly competition and most of all togetherness, a quality which embodies our school community. Thank you to all who were able to attend, to the teachers, parents and the PTA committee members who helped for the evening, to Hibiki, who helped us out with the marking and of course to Mrs Stewart for her quizzing skills! The next PTA event will be the School Disco, held on December 9th from 5.30 – 7.30pm. Tickets will go on sale very soon – I hope to see as many of you as possible!
Tickets for Annie Jr on the 17th and 18th November have nearly all sold out – please contact the office to purchase tickets for your family. The show starts at 6pm and will last for approximately 1 hour. Before and after the show we will have a special Christmas sale with wonderful decorations for you to buy to help us raise money for thirty visualisers. These we help us further improve our Maths teaching across the school.
Have you ‘liked’ our Kowloon Junior School facebook page yet? With daily updates we think you will enjoy an insight into the learning and special events that happen in our school.
Have a super week,
Karen Thomas

STUDENT ACTION
Naomi has written about the action she took this weekend:
On November 5th I showed a few of the learner profiles in the charity run of Terry Fox in Renaissance College. The learner profiles I showed were: Caring, Principled, and Open -Minded. It was great fun and a great way to help fund cancer research. I would like to inspire others to also take some action and help others to continue their dream.
Terry Fox’s dream was to run across canada with one leg, the other leg was chopped off because the cancer was spreading. He ran with one real leg and one fake leg until September 1, 1980 – After 143 days and 5,373 kilometres (3,339 miles) Terry stopped running outside of Thunder Bay, Ontario; his primary cancer had spread to his lungs. Before returning to BC for treatment Terry said, “I’m gonna do my very best. I’ll fight. I promise I won’t give up.” He died on June 28, 1981.
